Lot 4124 VERY FINE STARR MODEL 1863 SINGLE ACTION ARMY
REVOLVER. Cal. .44. S# 39794. Standard configuration, 8" barrel, solid blued steel frame marked on either side: "STARR ARMS CO. NEW YORK" & "STARR'S PATENT JAN. 15, 1856". Serial numbers start at 23000 continuing the numbers from earlier double action revolver. This revolver was made in late 1863-1864 during height of Civil War. This is a very scarce civilian model difficult to find in such excellent condition with high finish.CONDITION: Extremely fine overall, retaining 90% plus bright original blue on barrel, cylinder, and frame. Back strap & trigger guard are gray patina with blue on protected areas, muted case colors are retained on loading assembly and hammer. One piece grip is sound with 4 small holes for a plaque once attached to left side. Mechanically fine, crisp bright shiny rifled bore. (01-28558/JS). ANTIQUE. $5,000-7,000.
